FEATURE IN BRIEF OF BCMA

Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association (BCMA) is the National trade Organization of manufacturers and exporters of Portland Composite Cement (PCC) and Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) in Bangladesh.

The Registration no. of the association is C- 433 (10)/1998 and it was registered in 1998. The T.O License no. is 26/98 and the year of license is 1998. Currently, 31 cement manufacturing companies are the members of the BCMA, which is run by a 10-member Executive Committee, headed by the president.

The Executive Director works as the Head of Secretariat. BCMA is audited by MABS & J Partners.

Since its inception in 1998, BCMA has been playing a vital role in developing the cement sector in the country to promote access to affordable cement.

Closely working with the industry and regulatory authorities the association promotes understanding of good manufacturing practices and rightful implementation to ensure the quality of cement.

Mission

  • To protect, promote and develop of cement manufacturing industries in Bangladesh.

  • To make correspondence to govt. organizations like ministries, department, CCIE, customs, Semi govt, Statutory bodies, different federations etc and any other Bodies of grievances with reasonable demands on behalf of association.

Mostofa Kamal

Chairman & Managing Directorr

Philanthropist and prominent industrial entrepreneur, Mr. Mostafa Kamal, son of late Al-Haj Noor Miah, was born in a humble Muslim family in Chouddagram, Cumilla in the year 1955.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in 1976, Mr. Mostafa Kamal dipped his toes in the commodity trading business under the banner of “Kamal Trading Company” and achieved great success within a short period of time.

Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan is one of the Chairman of Bashundhara Group. He graduated in Business Studies from the University of Dhaka. He founded Bashundhara Group back in the 80s, which is now a leading Industrial group of Bangladesh.

Executive Director

Mr. Shankar Kumar Roy is the Executive Director of Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association (BCMA) with over 20 years of experience in the cement industry and corporate consulting. He has worked with Crown Cement, Holcim Bangladesh, Hyundai Cement, UNDP, and KPMG, specializing in business planning, supply chain, marketing, and risk management. An M. Com graduate from the University of Dhaka with an International Diploma in SCM, he is also a renowned corporate trainer with 19+ years of expertise in Marketing, Sales, Procurement, and Soft Skills.
